Save the Pantanal: The World’s Largest Tropical Wetland
Your festive gift will support Rainforest Trust’s urgent project to save the Pantanal in Brazil, which is the world’s largest tropical wetland. Rich in biodiversity and a critical stopover for migrating birds, the Pantanal is in danger of drying up as temperatures rise, water is overused, land is converted for agriculture, and wildfires burn. To protect a critical wildlife corridor connecting the northern and southern Pantanal, Rainforest Trust is collaborating with the Mato Grosso do Sul state’s Environment Agency, local partner Onçafri, other stakeholders, and a global alliance of funders to establish the new 326,179-acre Taquari Wetlands State Park.
