Dr. Seema Jayachandran

Seema Jayachandran is a Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University who studies low- and middle-income countries.
Her research projects often involve designing and running randomized trials to measure the impacts of policy interventions, in collaboration with NGOs or governments. She has led studies that have evaluated payments for ecosystem services programs in Uganda, Mexico, and India. She serves on the boards of directors of the Jameel Poverty Action Lab and CARE.
She received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from MIT, a master’s degree in physics and philosophy from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in economics from Harvard University.
