Rainie Schulte
Conservation Grants Officer


Rainie has a BS in Environmental Science from Drake University, where she concentrated her studies on Animal Behavior and Biological Conservation. After graduating, she moved to Fort Dauphin, Madagascar where she worked as a Project Officer for Sustainable Livelihoods and Environmental Conservation projects for SEED Madagascar. She also has a MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Management from the University of Oxford. She completed her Master’s dissertation research in Durlston Country Park & Nature Reserve in Swanage, UK, working to understand how protected area managers prioritize social and ecological variables when making decisions about land management and how butterfly populations in the park are affected.
Prior to joining Rainforest Trust in January 2025, Rainie worked as a Programme Officer, Plant Conservation at Fauna & Flora in Cambridge, UK.
In her free time, Rainie is an avid reader and traveler who enjoys spending time outside and crafting.
