Gina Grassi

Major Donor Manager

Macaw

Gina joined Rainforest Trust UK in September 2024 and has been working in fundraising for over seven years.

After studying in Manchester for her MA Art History & Visual Studies, Gina relocated to London and began fundraising in the charitable sector for art galleries and museums. Although primarily working to protect and sustain arts and heritage, she has always had a deep passion for ecological and environmental issues. Her MA dissertation focused on artists exploring the interdependency and inextricable link between nature and culture.

She is a big fan of artist and committed environmentalist, Mark Dion, who wrote the following in his piece Some Notes Towards a Manifesto for Artists Working With or About the Living World:  “We believe and affirm that human interaction with the natural world need not result in degradation and homogenisation of natural habitats and landscapes. Cultures have a choice to determine the future of our relationship with the living world, as efficiently as the environment is destroyed and could also be protected.”

Gina very much enjoys fundraising to see lasting permanent change and working with philanthropists to support conservation and preservation projects. Gina is hugely grateful to be part of the Rainforest Trust UK team in helping raise vital funds and awareness for the living world.

When not working, Gina enjoys reading, yoga and going on adventures with her Lakeland terrier Freddie.
