Originally from Costa Rica, Aurora Fonseca has always loved learning about and exploring rainforests and sharing that joy with others. As Philanthropy Manager, Major Gifts she channels that passion into collaborating with donors, the Board of Directors, and senior staff to advance a shared vision of protecting endangered species and the planet.

In her work as a fundraising professional, Aurora has always been committed to connecting individuals with projects that can help them make the transformative impact on the world that they wish to have. She herself is passionate about racial and environmental justice and is dedicated to contributing to these efforts in her work. Aurora holds an MSc from the University of Oxford’s School of Geography and the Environment and a B.A. from Yale University in Ethnicity, Race and Migration. Based in DC, she enjoys doing yoga in her free time, eating tacos with her partner, and spending way too much time catering to the needs of her tropical houseplants.
